Grace, the 2 year old Black Lab became an internet sensation when she
refused to leave the side of a fallen friend struck by a car, in the
middle of a busy road in La Puente, Calif.
A motorist at the scene, worried that Grace may also get hit, put
down traffic cones to divert other drivers as the Labrador mourned her
comrade. She refused to leave the side of her companion even though the
other dog had died.
Animal control officials arriving on the scene took the scared but
unharmed Lab to the Baldwin Park Animal Care Center, where workers there
named the dog Grace.
This amazing dog had no tag or microchip and appeared to be in good health.
Since no one came forward to claim her, people have been lining up to
adopt the dog, but officials say a new owner has been chosen.
Grace, the extremely loyal dog is now also a lucky dog having been
adopted by that good Samaritan. The unnamed man who helped protect Grace
from the traffic on the busy street as she stood guard has become her
new owner.
